The patterns of knurled aluminum rod are generally formed by rolling with a knurling knife on a lathe, There are two kinds of knurled aluminum rod patterns: straight lines and reticulate patterns. Machining knurled aluminum uses a knurling knife to squeeze aluminum workpieces, causing plastic deformation on their surfaces to form patterns. The radial extrusion force of the knurling is very large, so the rotational speed of the workpiece should be lower when machining knurled aluminum. Need to fully supply of cooling lubricating fluid, to avoid grinding the knurling knife and prevent the fines occured in knurling knife to produce chaotic pattern.
