Performance difference between POM plate and PE plate
PE plate is a kind of thermoplastic resin with high crystallinity and non-polarity. The appearance of the original PE is milky white, and it is translucent to a certain extent in the thin section.
PE plate has excellent resistance to most domestic and industrial chemicals. Certain types of chemicals can cause chemical corrosion, such as corrosive oxidants (concentrated nitric acid), aromatic hydrocarbons (xylene) and halogenated hydrocarbons (carbon tetrachloride). The polymer does not absorb moisture and has good water vapor resistance, and can be used for packaging purposes. PE has good electrical properties, especially high dielectric strength, which makes it very suitable for wires and cables. Medium to high molecular weight grades have excellent impact resistance, even at room temperature and - 40F low temperature. The unique characteristics of PE of various grades are the proper combination of four basic variables: density, molecular weight, molecular weight distribution and additives. Different catalysts are used to produce customized polymers with special properties. These variables are combined to produce PE grades for different purposes and achieve the best balance in performance. It has good chemical stability and can resist the erosion of most acid, alkali, organic solution and hot water. Electrical insulation is good.
The melting point of PE sheet is about 130 ℃, and the relative density is 0.941-0.960. It has good heat resistance and cold resistance, good chemical stability, high rigidity and toughness, and good mechanical strength. Dielectric properties and environmental stress cracking resistance are also good. The melting temperature ranges from 220 ℃ to 260℃. For materials with larger molecule size, the melting temperature range is suggested to be between 200 and 250 ℃.
POM plate, commonly known as Delrin plate, is extruded by POM plastic particles through the extruder at high temperature, through the corresponding die extrusion to obtain plates of different thickness. It is a thermoplastic engineering plastic with high melting point and high crystallinity. Because of the good characteristics of POM plate, it is very suitable for Machining on automatic lathe, especially for manufacturing precision parts.
POM plate is a kind of copolymer without side chain, high density and high crystallinity. It has excellent comprehensive properties.
POM plate is a kind of hard and compact material with smooth surface and luster. It is black or white and can be used for a long time in the temperature range of - 40 - 106 degree ℃. Its wear resistance and self-lubrication are also superior to most engineering plastics. It also has good oil resistance and peroxide resistance. It is very acid-resistant, alkali-resistant and moonlight ultraviolet radiation-resistant.
POM is a crystalline plastic with obvious melting point. Once the melting point is reached, the melt viscosity decreases rapidly. When the temperature exceeds a certain limit or the melt is heated for too long, it will cause decomposition.
POM has good comprehensive properties, and is the hardest in thermoplastics. It is one of the most similar varieties of plastic materials to metal in mechanical properties. Its tensile strength, bending strength, fatigue strength, wear resistance and electrical properties are excellent. It can be used between - 40 ℃ and 100 ℃ for a long time.
